Ship Chart & Love Triangle Template
A ship chart maps who feels what in a romance, and a love triangle is where those feelings stop matching. This template gives each direction of a pairing its own label, so "Ash has a crush on Ren" and "Ren sees Ash as a best friend" can sit on the same two characters.
What's in this template
Three original characters. Ash Quinn has a crush on Ren Ito, but Ren sees Ash as a best friend. Ash also has a crush on Cal Derwent, who doesn't know. Ren calls Cal a friend, while Cal dislikes Ren. That is three characters and six arrows, with every pair labeled in both directions.
Who it's for
It's built for fanfiction writers planning a slow burn, shippers comparing pairings in an AU, roleplayers tracking a triangle across threads, and romance writers who want to see at a glance where feelings are mutual and where they aren't.
How to make your own in 3 steps
- Rename the triangle. Open the template and click Ash, Ren or Cal to change the name or add a picture. Pictures stay on your device.
- Label each direction. Select one character, click Connect, then click the other. Choose Crush, Best friend, Dislike or Doesn't know, or write your own, like "secretly jealous", and click Add connection.
- Show the other side. Select an arrow and use Add [name]'s side, or tick Also add their perspective before you add the connection. Then click Export PNG to save the chart as a 2x or 4x image.
Short labels read best when the chart is shared as an image: two or three words per arrow is usually enough. Add more characters with + Character if the triangle turns into a square.
